Coyote Clean Up - “Toes 2 the Nose” off Double Trouble Doo Doo Bubble
Impossible to figure out much about Coyote Clean Up; he’s a house-influenced chillwaver from Detroit. This is off his debut LP, released last December by Afternoons Modeling, a division? of I Had an Accident Records (I use “released” extremely liberally here: apparently its “first pressing” was 10 CDRs, each with custom arts-and-craftsy album art).
The best thing about Double Trouble Doo Doo Bubble is that you can download the whole thing (along with other interesting-looking stuff) free from I Had an Accident here. Be sure to check out the PDF that comes with the download for some funny infos about the custom album art.
Beach House - “Childhood” off their self-titled debut
just wait for the super sweet melody that slips in halfway through the song, try not to sing along
this is a trailer for the documentary It’s a Vinyl World, After All, which I just Netflixed and am pretty interested to watch. Apparently it will teach me everything there is to know about records.
The Hood Internet - “The xx Gon’ Give It to Ya”
mashups are usually cheaply done and hard on the ears—this one redeems itself in comedic value
Voxtrot - “The Start of Something” off their Raised by Wolves EP
Voxtrot was one of the first indie (the genre) bands I really liked. This song reminds me of four years ago.
on first listens, I seriously underrated Eyelid Movies.
see also (more video from the same set): a totally awesome, totally different-from-the-album-version rendition of “when I’m small”
Cocteau Twins - “Cherry-Coloured Funk” off Heaven or Las Vegas
Cocteau Twins are the archetype for M83, Beach House, Lookbook etc etc

The Warlocks - “The Midnight Sun” off The Mirror Explodes
